Today while picking raspberries i came across two tiny frogs. This one is about 1 inch, the other was a little smaller. It was at a farm in Flemington. I tried to identify it by your web page but could not. It sort of looks like a pine barrens tree frog except it is out of the range. Do you know what kind of frog this little one is?
Not being an expert on frogs, I will ask our readers to help identify - post your answers as a comment here, perhaps with a link to more information.
Some good sources (that unfortunately don't show any frog exactly like the photo) for frogs in NJ:
- state.nj.us/dep/fgw/ensp/fieldguide_herps.htm
- state.nj.us/dep/fgw/ensp/pdf/frogs.pdf
- Being that this frog was found in Hunterdon County, take a look at www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/parks/
