New to Birding?

Can you identify the bird pictured here? Do you wish you knew how to identify some of the less common birds you encounter, or that you could identify a species just by its call? If yes, then you might be a good candidate to take up birding.

There are plenty of books to get you started. Though you can spot lots of birds with the naked eye, you might want to get a pair of binoculars or a scope too as you progress.

If you are new to birding, you can get started easily with this birding tutorial from NJ Fish and Wildlife.

So, can you identify the bird pictured here? Post your answer in the comments.
