Some exciting new legislation is in the works to boost habitat connectivity across the U.S. The Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act was introduced in December, citing that "one of the greatest threats to the survival and diversity of many native fish, wildlife, and plant species in the United States is the loss, degradation, fragmentation, and obstruction of natural habitats."
If passed into law, the Act would designate a National Wildlife Corridors System and establish funds for projects like road overpasses, underpasses and other strategies to help animals move through the landscape and shift in response to climate change.
